This speech sample goes along with my writing sample in that it is on the same topic, yet the difference between the two pieces of writing is why I elected to include both of them. For the essay, I wrote about a policy that I believe should be enacted in regards to raw milk. The purpose of the essay was to convince my audience, in this case my professor, why my policy is the best. For the essay, I motivated my audience, my classmates, not to drink raw milk and to encourage their loved ones to do likewise. The difference between convincing and motivating is not something that I thought about before my experience in LA101H and knowing the difference allows me to use each one more effectively.
My revisions for this speech were solely in the delivery. I spoke to rapidly when I gave the speech in class and that lessened the strength of my argument.
